Brandon was born in Detroit, MI and later relocated to New York, after attending Howard University, where he received his Bachelors in Business Administration. Brandon was awarded the Henry J. Raimondo Fellowship in Global Affairs while attending Rutgers University. Brandon is currently working to complete his Master's in Public Administration from Columbia University's School of International & Public Affairs.
Brandon has worked as a Community Organizer, a school choice and education reformer, and has been featured as a guest political contributor, policy analyst and Republican strategist for FOX News, FOX-5, MSNBC‘s TheGrio,C-Span's Road to the White House, BET, Democracy Now's Grit-TV with Laura Flanders, Time Out New York, Sirius Radio XM, Hannity's Great American Panel and Hot 97's Street Soldiers with Host Lisa Evers. Professionally, Brandon has served as an Economic Associate for the National Urban League's Economic Opportunity Institute in New York, working to promote an agenda for enhancing quality education in urban communities. Brandon has served as the Director of Education and African American Affairs in the Dept. of Intergovernmental Affairs in the Office of the New Jersey Governor. Brandon is a member of Republicans for Black Empowerment, and is the former spokesperson for HipHopRepublicans.com.
As a former educator and lecturer at Rutgers, Brandon has given lectures at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Baruch College, Princeton University, the Center of American Progress in Washington, D.C. Brandon continues to further "social entrepreneurship" in underrepresented communities across the nation, specifically around quality education reform. Brandon is a proud and distinguished member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of New York, Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, the Foreign Policy Initiative, the Alexander Hamilton Society of New York and the New Jersey Eagleton Institute for Politics.
